Starting university in a new country is an exciting adventure, but it can be daunting when it comes to meeting new people. Joining a sports club<\/a> at RGU<\/a> can be one of the best ways to build friendships, develop or discover your passions, and make the most of your student experience. <\/p>\n

Joining a Sports Club to Make Friends<\/h2>\n

As a study abroad student at RGU, living in a completely new country has been the most exciting experience I\u2019ve ever had. Like any new student, I was definitely nervous about meeting people and making friends here. <\/p>\n

Getting myself out there and joining the RGU Climbing Club<\/a> was the best decision I could\u2019ve made! Everyone has been nothing but welcoming, friendly, and always up for an adventure. <\/p>\n

The fun doesn\u2019t stop at weekly training sessions either, with the social nights that are always a great time.<\/p>\n

My Experience at the Climbing Club<\/h2>\n

Being part of the club has given me so many chances to explore both indoor and outdoor climbing in ways I never thought I\u2019d get to while studying abroad. <\/p>\n

Whether it\u2019s tackling some of the tough routes at the RGU wall, or experiencing the stunning outdoor crags in Torridon, I\u2019ve managed to achieve so many of my climbing goals and discover plenty of new ones along the way. <\/p>\n

The hardworking committee and the adventurous spirit of the club make every session feel like something special.<\/p>\n

Memories That Last a Lifetime<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s been such a blast getting to know so many amazing people and making memories I\u2019ll definitely be taking home with me (even if my forearms might disagree after some of those tough climbs). <\/p>\n

If you\u2019re looking for a way to get out there, meet new people, or try something different and new, I can\u2019t recommend joining a club enough. Who knows? You might just find yourself hanging off a wall in the Highlands with the most beautiful views, wishing the moment would never end.<\/p>\n
